Healthcare & Membership Bodies
Healthcare & Membership BodiesMembership that manages itself.
We built YNITU Connect for the Young Nurses Indaba Trade Union, which meant building around professional registration rather than around a generic subscriber list. Unions, associations and statutory bodies share that shape: membership is conditional, standing matters, and representation depends on both being current.
The pressures
What actually costs money in healthcare & membership bodies.
- 01Eligibility is conditional and must be verifiedProfessional membership depends on valid registration and employment status. Verified once at signup and never again, the record decays until it cannot be relied on.
- 02Representation requests arrive unstructuredMembers reach out by whatever channel is nearest. Without structured intake, matters are triaged from inboxes and deadlines get missed.
- 03Recurring dues reconciled by handSubscription revenue across membership tiers, reconciled manually, produces both revenue leakage and members incorrectly marked as lapsed.
- 04Member data carries real obligationsMembership records containing employment and professional detail attract POPIA duties around retention, access and consent that a spreadsheet cannot discharge.

What the law requires.
SANC registration
For nursing bodies, membership eligibility is tied to valid South African Nursing Council registration and standing.
Dispute forums
Representation runs through the CCMA and sector bargaining councils including PHDSBC, PSCBC and SALGBC. Intake needs to capture what each forum requires.
POPIA
Membership records hold personal and employment information, which brings retention, access and consent obligations that must be designed into the platform.
This is a summary of requirements we have implemented against, not legal advice. Confirm your obligations with a qualified practitioner before relying on them.
